A bit about me

I’ve worked as a counsellor since 2003, supporting people through many life challenges.

What matters most to me is creating a space where you feel safe enough to talk honestly and supported as you find your way forward.

The free consultation helps us both see if working together feels right.

What Clients Say

"Amanda helped me SO much!!"

I saw her for some weeks in the immediate aftermath of a divorce following a 30yr marriage, when I was feeling disorientated and disconnected from my emotions and needs. The sessions really helped me to access what I was feeling and understand why and moved me gently toward some vital conclusions about the way I wanted and needed to live through this disrupted period of my life. The therapy was key in enabling me to remain at work and fulfil the other demands of my life while feeling heard and growing in my own self-understanding.

- GC, Surrey

"Amanda always provides a warm and safe place."

After having counselling for 2years in relation to loss, a suggestion was made that I might benefit further from exploring the Enneagram with Amanda, who after conducting a Typing Session accepted me for Type1 work combined with any therapy arising from that. This has resulted in regular online sessions involving exploring and analysing Type patterns often with helpful accompanying diagrams and with carefully guided meditations and visualisations, leading to changes of perception, and new ways of understanding the past and of moving forward.

Amanda always provides a warm and safe place. She listens carefully, responds thoughtfully showing empathy and compassion especially when sharing ideas for behavioural challenges - something I’ve learned to appreciate!

- Linda, Sevenoaks

"A hugely valuable experience for me"

Working with Amanda over a period of 4 months was a hugely valuable experience for me. I was impressed by her deep knowledge of theory and the way she translated that knowledge into practical, thoughtful guidance. She listened actively and carefully, and her methodical approach helped me explore patterns in my thoughts, relationships, and behaviour with a new sense of clarity.

One aspect I particularly appreciated was how she incorporated the Enneagram into her work. It gave me a helpful framework for better understanding myself and my interactions with others. Throughout the process, she was consistent, empathetic, and focused, creating a space where I felt both supported and challenged in a productive way. I left our run of sessions with insights that have continued to be helpful.

- William, North London

"I quickly felt comfortable to explore the future"

Amanda supported me through a period where I was trying to make a very difficult and life changing decision. She always created a safe space for me during our sessions, building trust and I quickly felt comfortable to explore the future and build confidence in myself to take action. She is always well prepared and also flexible during our time together suggesting techniques and extra reading all of which have been very useful in my journey.

- Helen, Cambs

"I would highly recommend Amanda as a supervisor"

I would highly recommend Amanda as a supervisor, having worked with her in this capacity for just over two years when I began my training as an integrative counsellor.

From the warm welcome to the supported transition to a new supervisor with different specialisms, I have felt held, encouraged, seen and gently challenged. It is incredible to reflect on how anxious and insecure I was as a counsellor at the start, compared to the newly qualified counsellor I became, growing in confidence and loving the work.

Amanda found creative ways to help me understand trickier concepts such as transference, counter-transference and projection, increasing my awareness of self, as well as practical exploration on issues such as note-keeping and safeguarding.
She has given me the confidence to stretch and challenge myself, with guidance when needed, and bringing empathy, wisdom and humour to our sessions.

I greatly miss working with Amanda but will never forget all that I have learned from her.

What happens in the free 30 minute consultation?

The free 30 minute consultation is a really good way of meeting one another without any obligation or pressure. In this time, you can explain what it is that is bringing you to counselling and what you would like to get out of it, you will also probably get a ‘feel’ or a gut sense of whether working together would be right for you. I will be able to tell you whether I think my skills and expertise are the right match for your needs. If not. I will happily offer insight into what might be a more suitable option for you.

Do you work online?

I work online, outdoors and in person

What if we’re not a good fit?

I know how important it is to get the right ‘fit’. This the advantage of the free 30-minute consultation where we get to meet with no obligation or pressure to have sessions afterwards. I really believe in you finding a good match so I would positively support you following your instincts in this. If I feel I am not best suited to work with you, I am happy to offer insights of other approaches or even therapist colleagues that might suit you better.
